F ACETS Sri Lanka International Gem & Jewellery Trade Show held in September every year, is the pinnacle event in the industry calendar.

This event is the flagship activity of the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association. Held annually in Colombo since 1991,with state and private sector patronage, Facets Sri Lanka is an impressive showcase of Sri Lanka's top resource, Ceylon sapphires.

To increase its international profile, producers and wholesalers from the other gemstone producing countries in Africa, Asia, South America and Australia are invited to exhibit their gemstone products at the show, along with a sizeable number of local exhibitors. The event also attracts a large number of influential trade buyers & visitors from around the world.

The Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association (SLGJA) the apex private sector organization representing the interests of all industry sub-sectors from mining to manufacturing, wholesale and retail organizes the show in partnership with the government's National Gem and Jewellery Authority and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.

The objective of the show is to strengthen and promote industry development with special focus on the industry'sprime resource, Ceylon sapphires, as well as to Increase sales of gemstones and jewellery products to overseas markets, to attract more international buyers to Sri Lanka and facilitate a level playing field among the different industry segments while promoting fair trade.

Over the years, the show has steadfastly developed as one of the best international gem and jewellery exhibitions in the world.

A very significant factor in the history of the event is that it is the only exhibition in Sri Lanka which has been held continously for a period of 24 years. As a result the local gem and jewellery trade has benefitted immensely, reaching appreciable heights in the international arena.

Looking back over the past 24 years, branding of the show has developed to a great extent gaining a high level of international recognition for the exhibition.

Facets Sri Lanka plays a pivotal role in makingColombo a regional gem & jewellery hub and Sri Lanka the “Sapphire Capital of the World”.

2015 will be a milestone year, as it will be the 25th Anniversary, silver jubilee show which will take place from 03-06 September at the country's premier exhibition and convention Centre of the BMICH in Colombo. On display will be Sri Lanka's finest gems & Jewellery. Special Collector's gemstone corner will provide the opportunity of viewing some of the rare and important gemstone pieces and materials.

The anniversary show will have a “brand new-look”; thereby enhancing the value of the show. There will be several new developments and value addition; by way of display of high quality products adding grandeur to the exhibition.

The Silver Jubilee show will accommodate over 100 local and foreign exhibitors in over 150 trade stalls, showcasing their gem and jewellery products.

Further more, Over 10,000 visitors are expected to visit the anniversary show including a large number of high-profile and influential buyers from around the world, making it the biggest and most successful event in its 25 year history.
