The 3rd Edition of Diamond Detection EXPO & Symposium organized by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in association with Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), was . The business Expo & Symposium was organized to improve detection technology for the diamond industry.

Mr Edgard D Kagan, Consul General, United states of America, Shri Pramod Agarwal, Chairman, GJEPC, Shri. Anoop Mehta, President and Shri Mehul Shah, Vice President from Bharat Diamond Bourse and several other dignitaries from Gem and Jewellery sector were present at the inauguration ceremony of DDES 2018.

The 3rd Edition of DDES witnessed showcasing of equipment's and technology of diamond detection by DRC Techno, Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Gemmological Institute of Indian (GII), International Gemological Institute (IGI), The International Institute of Diamond Grading & Research (IIDGR),KDL Impex and Zvi Yehuda who exhibited at the three day informative event.

Several Seminar sessions were organized for Gem & Jewellery trade members, including Seminar by GIA on Identifying Synthetic Diamond, Seminar by IIDGR, NGTC & GII presentation on Chinese synthetic diamonds and detection/ identification at NGTC, Seminar by IGI on New trends in Synthetic Diamonds, Seminar by DRC Techno, Seminars by GII and GIA on identifying synthetic diamonds, diamond testing & detection of synthetic diamond etc were some of the major highlights of the DDES 2018 event.

Commenting on this event, GJEPC Chairman, Shri Pramod Agarwal, said, "Detection of synthetic stones from the natural ones has gained paramount importance over the years. GJEPC proactively initiated formation of Natural Diamond Monitoring Committee (NMDC) in 2012 which is commendable work in this field. NMDC has successfully pursued with Govt. to establish separate HS code for Diamond and Synthetic stones to enable clear differentiation. DDES organized by GJEPC in association with BDB facilitates to bring together the available detection techniques under one roof."

Bharat Diamond Bourse President, Shri Anoop Mehta said, "Bharat Diamond Bourse is the largest diamond bourse today in the world. Bharat Diamond Week starts with DDES 2018 which is aimed at creating an opportunity for companies providing synthetic diamond detection machines & equipment along with leading laboratories and service providers to interact with trade members to impart knowledge on various techniques to detect synthetic diamonds. "
