Creative director and jewellery expert Paola De Luca, CEO of consulting firm The Futurist LLC and founder of Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, an independent observatory of Italian trade show VicenzaOro, will lead seminars at the Jewellery Industry Fair in Sydney from August 26-28, giving insights into the future of the global jewellery industry, including design directions in seasons 2023/24.

Paola will lead a workshop on Saturday, August 26 at midday, entitled “Consumers’ Culture: Where are we heading?” which will look at how new consumer values are impacting the jewellery sector, and at how creativity and innovation will make a difference in the global market.

She will also give a presentation on Sunday, August 27 at 11 am about jewellery design directions in seasons 2023/24, looking at the international scenario, from consumers’ attitudes to inspirations, colours and materials, silhouettes and technical innovations.

Paola says: “Experience the magic of a dynamic colour explosion and embrace the rise of gender-fluid collections that redefine style boundaries.

“Personalization and layering will empower you to tell your unique story through your jewellery choices.

“Be captivated by circular designs with a touch of retrofuturism and vintage aesthetics, bringing a timeless charm to modern collections. Discover bold and intricate silhouettes that make a striking impact, along with daring and unconventional colour palettes that challenge convention.”

Paola will discuss how AI will impact the future of jewellery manufacturing and design, and how it may affect productivity, jobs, and the legal framework.

"The world is witnessing a dramatic transformation in the jewellery sector as we enter a new digital era," Paola says.

"With shifting social values and an increased focus on sustainability, the industry is experiencing a wave of disruption that is reshaping the way consumers make purchasing decisions."
