Helen Molesworth
Respected gemmologist Helen Molesworth has joined Gembridge, a new regulated coloured gemstones, pearls and jewellery trading platform, as Head of Business Development.

Gembridge is pioneering the digital transformation of the certified coloured gemstone, pearls and jewellery trade by providing a marketplace for verified members to buy, sell and consign, via a secure and insured door-to-door service. Gembridge is a global digital marketplace where people can trade with trust.

“Helen is a great addition to our team – her knowledge, passion and standing in the global industry are just so impressive. It’s talent like Helen who will ensure that Gembridge is a centrepiece in the digital future of the industry,” Nick Marrett, Gembridge CEO, said.

Helen Molesworth said, “I am delighted to be part of such a dynamic and exciting platform, combining the best of tech and industry expertise, to help our trade community expand their businesses safely and efficiently at the perfect time.”

Helen has a broad commercial, international and academic background in the gem and jewellery industry, having worked with the trade, gemmological laboratories and auction houses across Europe and Asia.

In 2011, she became Professeur D’Histoire du Bijoux in Geneva, then joined Gübelin as Managing Director to create, launch and run a coloured gemstone Academy, writing all the courses and building the business which she operated out of Switzerland, Hong Kong and successfully took into China. She has travelled extensively to gem shows and mine sites internationally, and remains based in Geneva.

Specialising in ancient gems as part of her Classics degree at Oxford University, Helen went on to gain her FGA with Distinction, and went straight into the jewellery trade in London.

During a decade as a jewellery specialist for Sotheby’s and Christie’s in London and Geneva, Helen handled, researched and valued many world-class gems and important collections. She was the specialist in charge of valuing, researching and selling the private jewellery collection of HRH the Princess Margaret in London in 2006.

Helen is a Fellow of the Gemmological Associations of Great Britain and Hong Kong, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in London, and has published and lectured widely on gems ancient through to modern. She created the texts for the Gübelin Gem Portraits and is co-author of The Complete Content Cameos.
