The ribbon-cutting ceremony is considered one of the key moments of any grand opening
event. This ceremony was the inspiration for Thai artisans from MysticGold to create the
Grandiose Renita, the one-of-a-kind ribbon cutting scissors. At the International Chanthaburi
Gems and Jewelry Festival 2019, the Grandiose Renita was featured at the opening
ceremony. The exquisite details of the masterpiece caught the attention of participants at
the event who appreciated the artwork and were curious to find out the story behind the
special scissors.
The Grandiose Renita is a masterpiece which has combined the greatest art of gold and the
soul of Thai craftsmanship. Mr. Sutthichai Phosamton or Ton Ayodia -- one of the best hand
engravers in the country -- has transformed ordinary scissors into exquisite ribbon-cutting
scissors with his expertise in gold inlayed on metal by hand which is widely recognized in
the global arena. The delicate design of scrollwork on the scissors represents growth, an
auspicious sign for the ceremony and those participating in the event.
For the Grandiose Renita, a special mixture of 99.9% gold and green gold by MysticGold was
finely inlayed and sculpted onto the scissors to create a beautiful pattern.
The scissors box is made from a special copper mixture, while the copper sheet displays an
eye-catching colorful pattern achieved through an oxidation process. Moreover, artisans from
MysticGold used the copper sheet to form the box by hand in order to create a set of
Gradiose Renita, which symbolizes auspiciousness and growth, and is recognized as one of
the most beautiful and valuable ribbon-cutting scissors in history.
